The democratic politician Melissa Hortman and her husband have been shot in the state of Minnesota. Governor Tim Walz spoke of an apparently politically motivated act.
In the United States, a Democrat politician was killed in a presumably targeted attack. As the governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, said on Saturday, an armed attacker killed the woman who was a member of the parliament of the state, and whose husband in her house in a suburb of Minneapolis. Another MP was shot and injured in his house in another suburb. « This was an act of targeted political violence, » said Walz.

My good friend and colleague, parliamentary president Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, were shot this morning with an apparently politically motivated assassination, » said Walz at a press conference on Saturday. He also said: « Our state has lost great leaders. »
Walz said that Senator John Hoffman and his wife from Champlin were shot several times in a second attack. They were operated on that he was « careful » that they would survive.
Hortman was the leading representative of the Democrats in the state legislative and former spokeswoman for the House of Representatives. It was first elected in 2004. Both Hoffman and Hortman represented districts in the north of Minneapolis. (APA/Red.)
