Defies the Ursula’s plan. Hungary expects a « wild fight »
The Hungarian government will use all possible means to counteract the Von Der Leyen – Zelenski plan, which would ‘ruin’ the economies in Central Europe and would give a blow to the European economy, Peter Szijjarto Sunday, MTI reports.
Prior to the Monday meeting of energy ministers in the European Union, which will be discussed the prohibition of Russian energy, Peter Szijjarto told the public radio station that gas prices are double or triple compared to those in the United States, while electricity prices are four or five times higher than in China.
He put these prices’ very high ‘on account’ to Brussels sanction policies and added that, since the beginning of the war, the Ukrainians have tried to cause the EU to sanction Russian energy, such as gas, crude oil and nuclear fuel.
Szijjarto said that the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has caused extreme damage to the European Union in recent years and supports the Ukrainian President, Volodimir Zelenski, to an unprecedented extent, and an element of this support was forced to pay more for Ukraine.
He denounced the ‘hypocrisy’ of energy ministers, stating that they ‘made great statements’ in the margin of the meetings, before returning to the generally accepted position’ in the meeting room. Slovaks could be the exception, said Szijjarto, adding that he spoke to his Slovak counterpart several times during the previous week.
‘The Von Der Leyen – Zelensky plan will create serious problems and risks not only for Hungary, but also for the energy supply of Slovakia, « said the head of Hungarian diplomacy.
The minister added that Hungary and Slovakia will adopt a common position against the plan at the Monday meeting.
Szijjarto also stated that he is expecting a ‘wild fight’ at the Monday meeting of energy ministers.
