« Defenders of all criminals »: GERB saved the immunities of MPs from « Revival » and MRF-DPS

GERB saved the immunities of the Revival and the MRF-DPS, surprisingly with the key votes of MPs from the Boyko Borisov Party, all six points on the agenda for removing MPs have dropped out of the agenda of the National Assembly. The vote of Borisov’s party became the reason for the accusations of it, with Yavor Bozhankov identified it as a supporter of « Alternative to Germany » and Hamid Hamid as « the defender of all criminals in Bulgaria ».

Minutes ago with 120 votes in favor of « draft decorations for the removal of immunity to Two MPs from MRF-DPS (Jayhan Ibryamov and Mario Rangelov) and four from Vazrajdane (Slavcho Krumov, Ivaylo Chorbov, Yordan Todorov, Nikola Dimitrov) dropped out of the agenda. In support of the proposal of Peter Petrov from the Kostadin Kostadinov party, 61 GERB MPs voted, one of « We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria », 18 of MRF-DPS, All of the Revival and the Greatness. The only MP from PP-DB to vote for the elimination of immunity is Lena Borislavova, who from the podium announced that the system had misled her voice (her voice (The calculations show that even if the vote was negative, Borislavova’s voice is not key and the point would be dropped again – note.)

« More hostages won’t give »: Revival MPs won’t give up their immunity

Doubts about the rapprochement of « Revival » and « continue the change »

At the beginning of the plenary session, Parliament President Natalia Kiselova announced that Nikolay Denkov from « Continuing the Change » had proposed an additional item on the agenda – the creation of a temporary committee to look at all the evidence collected for which the removal of immunity is requested. From Kiselova’s words, it became clear that the request was received minutes before the start of yesterday’s plenary meeting (According to the Rules, this is done until 6 pm every Tuesday – note.). Lena Borislavova defended the idea and stated that this is how the long -standing parliamentary tradition is being restored, thanks to which everyone would have the opportunity to get acquainted with what the six MPs have done. She suggested that an extraordinary presidential council be convened, after which the idea of voting. From the proposals of I.F. Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov to download immunity is understood that:

  • Jayhan Ibryamov (MRF -DPS) – for a bribe of BGN 100,000;
  • Mario Rangelov (MRF -DPS) – buying votes and trading in influence;
  • Ivaylo Chorbov (« Renaissance ») – arson of The building of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria and the destruction of police uniforms;
  • Slavcho Krumov (« Renaissance ») – arson and throwing a cocktail « Molotov » at the building of the representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria;
  • Jordan Todorov (« Revival ») – showed his card as a Member of Parliament, pushed and offended the employees of the Ministry of Interior, who had overcome the enclosure;
  • Nikola Dimitrov (« Renaissance ») – pushed and hit police officers;

The proposal of « continuing the change » for a temporary committee, which is yet to consider the requested immunity, did not appeal to Yavor Bozhankov, who from the podium stated that there was no point in such a committee and the parliament could not deal with MPs for months.

It would be an exceptional mistake to start with a committee now and to put an umbrella over these MPs for a few months.

Yavor Bozhankov.
