Decade of the tragic events in Kumanovo « Divo Naselje »

Today it has been a decade of the armed shootout in Kumanovo’s « Divo Naselje ». Eight members of the security forces were killed on May 9 and 10, 2015. In the 28-hour shootings, members of the security forces-Ljubisa Arangelovic, Boban Ivanovic, Goran Ilijevski, Zarko Kuzmanovski, Isamedin Osmani, Saso Samoylovski, Nenad Serafimovski and Goran Stojmenov were killed. There were 37 injured members of the security forces.

A memorial plaque was discovered in honor of the dead in the circle of SIA Kumanovo. Police officers who passed their lives in the anti -terrorist action in « Divo Naselje » in Kumanovo on May 9 and 10, 2015, and the « heroes live forever » in the central area of ​​Kumanovo.

Kumanovo lived for two days in fear when shootings of varying intensity were heard in the densely populated « Tode Mendol » neighborhood. The neighborhood was completely isolated from security forces, residents were evacuated, helicopters were flying. Citizens of Kumanovo say never to repeat « Wild Naselje », and the extremely tragic event will remain in the memory of Kumanovo forever.
