Dead President of the Latvian Medical Association Aizsilniece / Day
State President Edgars Rinkēvičs in tweet expresses his deepest condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of Aizsilniece.
Born in 1966, Aizsilniece was a family doctor, homeopath and was actively involved in the professional environment of doctors.
According to information on the LAB’s website, she acted as a vice president in this organization before becoming president of the Society in 2018. Similarly, the Ulsile Higher has worked a lot in the projects of the World Health Organization, acquired the basics of public health in Sweden, Switzerland, and the US has a Master’s degree in Health Care at the University of London.
The archive of the LETA agency shows that in 2003, Aizsilniece was an advisor to the then Minister of Health Ingrid Circene and was appointed chairman of the Council of the State Medicines Agency in the same year.
She was also the chairman of the board of the NGO « Health Projects for Latvia », the environmental activist, head of the band « Pure Forests », as well as the author and organizer of the idea of the Great Cleanup.
The Latvian Nursing Association points out that the Aizsilniece has made a great deal of contribution to the development of the health care system and in the strengthening of the professional environment of doctors.
According to the LAB, the removal of the Aizsilniece will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 3 pm from Riga Lutheran parish in Tornakalns.
