The Flemish public transport company De Lijn warns its customers of nuisance next week Tuesday 29 April. Then the trade unions organize a new general strike against the savings plans of the De Wever government.
The service of De Lijn will be disrupted that day throughout Flanders by the trade union action, it sounds. Fewer bus and tram rides will be driven. De Lijn is working on an alternative service, but for details about this it is waiting for Sunday evening 27 April. Travelers are advised to plan their relocation in advance, via the route planner on the website or the De Lijn app. Rides that are not driven do not appear in the route planner, it sounds. The line apologizes for the nuisance and discomfort.
Also at the NMBS railway company there will be a stop on Tuesday 29 April.
The trade unions have been taking action against the plans of the De Wever government for several months. They denounce, among other things, the fact that people will have to work longer and more flexibly for less pension, the civil servant status is being eroded and saving is saved on the hood of unemployed and long -term sick. The general strike of April 29 follows that of 31 March and is an initiative of ABVV and ACV. In the trade union spamlet it is that « the measures remain indigestible » and « that the government wants to continue to shake up ». The emphasis on April 29 is on regional actions, in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent and in a few cities in Wallonia.
