David Lespiau has the art of titles. His family often stands on the threshold between clarity and mystery, gaining great evocation power. After Yellow djinn (2008), Oh a place of exhaustion (2009), We had (2014), eQuilibre Libellule Level (2017), the author has just signed with hero-limite A dancing for human fingers.
This title can be read first as the formal program of the book: we see, indeed, on the page, short stanzas of five lines of unequal lengths which can be seen as representations of hands, the five fingers more or less unfolded. As with prehistoric paintings on the walls of the caves, the hundred poems that compose it thus give an enigmatic, graphic rhythm, to the progress of the collection.

But there « Dance of human fingers » of the title is also a quote, that of the definition of the piano by The philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951). So there will be a question of music and composition here. Moreover the hundred measures of this « dance » are followed by a shorter set of the same form and entitled Music alone.
The five -finged poems of the book endeavor to stick to each other with the fragments of language that sounds together. Everyone is thus an effective small symphony, shaped as much – it is felt when reading – from verses due to the invention of the poet as from the pieces of sentences heard and collected in passing. David Lespiau has fun by sticking under the word of « centon », which designates a literary – or musical form – made of quotes, an allusion to the most famous of American musicals.

« This is why without counting

supposes loneliness ”, Indicates the fragment 30. Opposite, the 31 continues and supports:
