In Denmark, people should only be able to retire in the future at the age of 70. The parliament in Copenhagen passed a law to increase the age of retirement to 70 years until 2040. 81 agreed for the text, 21, on the other hand, as the parliament announced. The new law determines the age of pension for all citizens born after December 31, 1970. It is currently 67 years in Denmark.
Denmark has continuously adapted to life expectancy since 2006. The numbers are checked every five years. The retirement age should increase to 68 years by 2030, and it should be 69 years in 2035.

The 47-year-old Social Democratic Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said last year that she was ready to check the system as soon as the official retirement age had reached 70 years. « We do not believe that the retirement age should continue to be increased automatically, » said Frederiksen of the daily newspaper « Berlingske ».
