Dance Awards 2023-2024 Winners / Day
Dance events were evaluated and nominated for a two -year period by jury commission: Chairman of the Jury Commission, contemporary dance expert Dmitry Gaitjukevich, contemporary dance expert Sintija Siliņa, contemporary dance experts Edīte Ābeltiņa and Anastasia Jasvina, ballet experts Lita Beiris Puriņš, as well as artist, art therapist and art mediator Lība Berzina. For the second time running and nominees in the nomination Youth jury prize The youth jury, which featured Edward Arums, Vanessa Legzdiņa-Puķēna, Kristiāns Protasovs, Karlīna Kārkliņa and Mary Mara Markus, also nominated.
At the ceremony, the winners of the lifetime prize dance art – choreographer, dancer, dance teacher Gunta Bāliņa and choreographer, teacher Baiba Rasma Stein.
The ceremony was formed by director Janis Znotiņš, director assistant Agate Bankava, screenwriter Ance Muižniece, visual artist Pamela Butane, choreographers Liene Grava and Reinis Rešetins (stage folk dance), Eiden William Konefrij Turjapina, Anastasia Yasvin and dancers (contemporary dances), musical design author and composer Reinis Sējāns, video projection artist Tom Zeļģis and the author of the light concept Martins Feldmanis. Head of the ceremony and co -author Jānis Skutelis.
Each dance prize winner received a cash prize and a statuette by artist Ginta Grube. The badge in the statuette is different from year to year, serving as a special recognition mark. This year, the badge is designed as an arrow that is in constant motion. The leading motive of the fourth dance prize ceremony is moving through the times, as well as the prize -attached badge embodies. Different design variation decorates a nomination Youth jury prize and Young dance artists Prizes.

The readers’ affection awards were also presented in the LSM.LV vote. In the category Dance production It was received by a concert show Anna’s aunt’s pirates (Dance Support Fund Stellar well in cooperation with Riga Art and Media Technical School), while about Dance event Readers acknowledged XXVII General Latvian Song and XVII Dance Celebration Latvian Stage Dance Concert White (Latvian National Culture Center, Diana Chivle). Lsm.lv The winners of the readers’ vote received porcelain vases created specifically for this event in Latvia.
The dance prize is the highest award in professional dance art. It is awarded every two years in ballet, contemporary dance, stage folk dance and contemporary dance for achievements in the creation of new production, performance and dance events, as well as in pedagogical and research.
The Dance Prize is organized by the Latvian Dance Information Center in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and in 2025 in cooperation with Cesis Municipality. Cēsis is the capital of Latvian Culture in 2025.
