Dacia Bigster – Budget brand steaks
Sandero is the small and cheap, jogger is the spacious and inexpensive, Dust is the robust and cheap. Now comes the bigster and it should be the … big and expensive? No, not really. Dacia heeds to use the word « flagship » when they launch Bigster and are content to say that it takes in the brand’s core values in the middle class SUV segment.
Bigster is not a brand new model but essentially an extended dust. Bigster is 23 centimeters longer and has four inches extra between front and rear wheels.
The rear seat is larger than in the dust and here you sit really well even as a long adult, with generous legroom and well -height ceiling height but the foam rubber dump in the cushion will probably taste wood after a long time.
With the rear seat folded up Features up to 612 liters and when the rear seat backs are folded, it should be possible to get 1,977 VDA liters. The rear seat is three -part but there is no third seat row. The brand already has a seven -seater model in the range: Jogger.
While the latest edition of Dusts behaves like an old and small car with a swimming control Inger Bigster, much greater confidence with better feeling in steering, better directional stability and more comfortable suspension. Dacia claims to have put in more sound insulation in well -chosen places and windshields and the glass of both windows is thicker.
Bigster is the brand’s first model to be equipped with electric tailgate and panoramic stakes, but Dacia still lacks more advanced driver help systems, head up display and headlights with mats technology.
The interior is made in not very flattering but durable and stylish materials and if it were not because several panels echo hollow when drumming on them, there would be nothing to complain about.
In some places in The decor are small points where you can attach different accessories, such as a trash can or lamp. It should feel practical but learns to be used very rarely everyday. More useful is the chilled storage compartment under the armrest between the front seats and the folding roof racks that are on the extremist version (which is the only one to come to Sweden initially).
The driver’s seat provides pretty good thigh support, but the problem with the curved driving position is here, as well as in Dust. For a long driver, the butt ends very close to the floor and you sit at a strange angle on your legs.
While the Dust is highlighted as the brand’s small durable Bergsget, Bigster should be more of a family car for ordinary roads. It is clear not least from the fact that the Swedish market, at least initially, can only buy the engine alternative called Hybrid 155.
It’s a front -wheel drive Full hybrid drive line with a completely newly developed petrol engine made by Renaults and Geely’s joint motor company Horse Powertrain. It is not impossible that the block may end up in a Volvo in the future.
Bigster is comfortable to drive at low speeds as the electric motor provides a soft walk. At higher speeds, when the petrol engine has to help, the transitions between electricity and gasoline go seamlessly but the driving is disturbed by the buzzing engine. The gearbox, where an electric motor instead of a clutch adjusts the engine speed, works well. During the test run, the average consumption of the travel computer drops from 0.55 to 0.44 liters per mile.
At the time of writing, Dacia has not been able to decide how much they want to pay for Bigster. That it becomes more expensive than Dust is clear, it is not unlikely that Bigster Hybrid 155 ends up close to the SEK 400,000. Is it worth it? Yes, if you want a more spacious and driver -safe car than a Duster.
