Cyclist (15) in danger after accident at the intersection (Londerzeel)

A 15-year-old cyclist from Londerzeel who rode an electric bicycle was involved on Monday evening in a major accident at the Herbodin/Kouterbaan intersection (Maldersesteenweg). The victim was removed in a very critical condition through the MUG service and is in danger.
« The lane is closed at the Herbodin/Kouterbaan intersection on the Maldersesteenweg in Londerzeel, » reports the Kapelle-op-den-Bos police zone, Londerzeel, Meise (KLM) on social media. « We ask to avoid the environment. »
« The street remains under anticipation of the public prosecutor’s investigation. What exactly happened must show further research, according to the first findings two vehicles were involved: an electric bicycle and a car, » says Commissioner Franky Maes.
Criticism
« A maneuver has been carried out by the cyclist, but the circumstances must be further investigated. » In the meantime, the 15-year-old cyclist has been taken criticism. The driver of the vehicle – a lady of 40 years from Londerzeel – who collided with the cyclist, took a negative breath test and was hit hard.
How the accident happened is not entirely clear. « A traffic expert is therefore appointed via the Halle-Vilvoorde public prosecutor’s office, » confirms Commissioner Maes from the KLM zone. (JHW/DBG)
