Cybersecurity salaries reach 1 million rubles
The salaries of specialists in the field of cybersecurity will overheat, specialized companies say. So, according to Superjob, a reward in the position of the IB director can reach 1 million rubles. At the same time, employers are increasingly gravitating to the invitation of experienced specialists, preferring to hire them, instead of three or four beginner employees.
“Kommersant” got acquainted with the Superjob data about the salaries and IT-integrator “Telecom Exchange” about the labor market in the field of cybersecurity for the year (March 2024 by March 2025). According to statistics, the number of vacancies that employers placed on the platform decreased by 9% with the total growth of the proposed salaries, especially for experienced specialists (work from three years). So, the maximum salary of the director for cybersecurity reaches 1 million rubles, the average – 500 thousand rubles. (an increase of 11%), the head of the IB department – 350 thousand (height 6%), and a specialist in IB – 230 thousand (10%growth), data research provides Superjob.ru.
Researchers also note that the trend is also characteristic of the IT market as a whole: the focus is shifting from mass hiring to the search for highly specialized Senior specialists. The top 5 industries, where such personnel are most in demand, included information technologies, banks, business services (logistics, marketing and advertising, consulting, etc.), retail and stateganization. Employers placed the most vacancies for IB specialists in March 2025 in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Moscow Region, as well as in the Sverdlovsk region and Tatarstan.
A decrease in the number of vacancies in the field of cybersecurity by 9% by the year, according to the HR director of the Telecom Exchange, Katerina Smirnova, does not speak of the saturation of the market: “Rather, this is a correction after rapid growth, synchronized with the general trends of the labor market.” Experts agree that the total number was affected by a decrease in demand for young specialists. “Cybehroses do not go anywhere, and business still needs protection, the priorities in hiring are simply changed: the demand for more expensive qualified personnel is returned, instead of three or four Junior specialists, the company prefer to hire one Senior, which will competently build processes and solve the tasks,” says the director of ServicePipe products Mikhail Khlebov.
As the interlocutor of Kommersant explains the cybersecurity market, over the past three years, the personnel market in the field of cybersecurity has been extremely overheated: salaries have grown against the background of the growth of ib risks, regulation and struggle for frames as a whole. By the end of 2024, the situation began to change – the high key rate of the Central Bank complicated the work of companies on the market as a whole, expensive loans no longer allow to develop just as quickly. Therefore, in 2025, it is not worth expecting the growth of pure vacancies with high salaries, and a number of cases of reductions of specialists, which have become known in recent months, are logical in current conditions.
The growth of salaries in the field of information security is confirmed in hh.ru, but they do not see the reduction of vacancies. According to them, the total number of proposals for the period reached 5.1 thousand, which is 5% more than in 2023. The regulation of the cybersecurity market also continues to change: for example, on March 25, in the State Duma, immediately in the second and third readings, a bill was adopted on the protection of citizens from telephone and Internet meshs, which should also increase the security of systems of communication operators, banks and marketplaces (See “Kommersant” from March 25).
According to Lyudmila Makarova, the director of the talents of the Solar Group of Companies, the IB market is still far from saturation with technologies and the implementation of import substitution tasks, and the amount of cyberism does not decrease, therefore, stabilizing the situation with the number of necessary specialists should be expected “on the horizon of three to five years”. A similar forecast is given by Vyacheslav Maksimov, the technical director of “Inform Prisems”: the need for IB specialists is growing, and the volume of qualified resources appears with a significant delay, and “I would not talk about a fracture of the situation for another two or three years.” High demand for specialists in the regions, according to Katerina Smirnova, is explained by the development of regional IT-clusters and the presence of large industrial enterprises, which are the potential goals of cyber attacks.
