Current Aspects in Turkish Foreign Policy ”panel was held in EMU – Cyprus Newspaper
Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Cyprus Policy Center (KPM) and the Faculty of Business and Economics, Department of Political Science and International Relations in the cooperation of « Turkish Foreign Policy: Strategy, Changes and Challenges » was organized.
According to information given from EMU, Speaking at the opening of the panel, EMU Political Science and International Relations Department and the President of the EMU KPM. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, Speakers of the Seminar Asst. Assoc. Dr. Mehtap Kara, Research Assistant Vera Liubchak and Research Assistant Oguz Ufuk Haksever’i introduced.
The panel started by explaining the protection strategy in Türkiye’s great power competition. Assoc. Dr. Mehtap Kara said that Turkey can use international conditions in its favor thanks to Türkiye’s “Hedging) strategy.
Research Assistant Vera Liubchak described Türkiye’s vision on its role in the world system in the context of relations with Russia and the United States. Liubchak said that the maintenance of relations with the US and Russia gives Türkiye the opportunity to prove that it was a higher level of hegemon.
