CSM triggers the procedure of appointing a new boss at the Supreme Court
The Superior Council of Magistracy announced, on Monday, to initiate the procedure regarding the appointment of a new head of the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
According to the announcement published on the institution’s website, the candidates for the position of president of the Supreme Court are submitted to the judges section of the Superior Council of Magistracy, until June 16 inclusive, according to the approved estimated calendar.
On June 17, the list of candidates registered in the procedure for employing the management position and the projects regarding the exercise of the specific duties of the management position is to be published, and starting with June 23 the Section for Judges may order the analysis of the candidates and the approval of the interview for the registered candidates.
« The candidate judges are obliged to give, on their own responsibility, a statement stating that they have not been part of the intelligence services and have not collaborated with them and a statement stating that they do not have a personal interest that influences or could influence the fulfillment and impartiality of the duties provided by the law », mentioned.
The mandate of the current president of the supreme court, Corina Corbu, ceases in mid -September.
