CSM Bucharest has qualified in the quarters of the Champions League


CSM Bucharest qualified in the quarterfinals of the Champions League for women’s handball, after defeating CS Rapid 28-22 (11-11), on Saturday, in the second leg of the play-off, hosted by the Multipurpose Hall « Ioan Kunst-Ghermănescu » in the Capital.

CSMB had also won the first leg, with 34-24, also in the Multipurpose Hall, quickly in the host.
The Saturday match was more balanced than the tour, but the « tiger » made the difference in the second half.

Elizabeth Omoregie scored 6 goals for CSM, Crina Pintea, Monika Kobobylinska and Trine Jansn Oe˜stergaard, 4 goals, Emma Cecilie Uhrskov Fris 3, Djurdjina Jaukovic 2, Inger Smits 2, Alina Careseels 1, Cristina Neagu 1, Noemi Pasztor 1.
Gabriela Goncalves Dias Moreschi had 9 interventions (33.33%), and Daciana Hosu defended a shot (20%).

The goals of the CS Rapid team were scored by Andjela Janjusevic 4, Polina Gorșkova 3, Angela Ștefania Stoica 3, Estavana Polman 3, Albertina Da Cruz Kassoma 2, Sara Ristovska 2, Lara Gonzalez Ortega 1, Denisa Șandru (Portar) 1, Aissatou Kouyate 1, Dorina Koos 1 Alicia Fernandez Fraga 1.
Denisa Șandru had 18 interventions (39.13%).

The match was arbitrated by the Bulgarians Gheorghi Doicinov and Iulian Gorețov, and the EHF delegate was the Croatian Lidija Bojic Cacic.

In the quarters, CSM Bucharest will face the Danish team Team Esbjerg, the first match being scheduled in the Capital, on April 19-20, and the return to Denmark, on April 26-27. Esbjerg qualified directly in the quarters, after ranking second in Group B.
