Criminal structures dictate events in justice, reaction from either the state nor the EU

The hopes of having a positive change in the judiciary fade. Honorable people in this system need to realize that it can no longer.

This is the state of things that even the best regulatory changes can change nothing in themselves.

We need a cultural change in the way in which public authority is exercised in the country

Unfortunately, the cultural change we have seen in recent years has a back sign.

From all EU countries, we spend the most on justice as a percentage of GDP.

Nevertheless, we have some criminal structures, literally bandit organizations that dictate justice events. Some dark rooms in which the bandits are influenced on the appointment of such positions as including the Bulgarian European prosecutor.

The majority of people working in the judicial system and in the public sector in general are undeniably respectable. The problem is that they are quiet. At one point, when the spoilage begins to reach such brutal levels as we have observed in recent years, this silence may be to break it themselves.

Only with the awareness of the people inside that so no more can, a cultural change can be achieved

I don’t know what the road is, I have no recipe. But there is no way the respectable people in the system who see what is happening, leave it without any comment.

A brutal example I always give: last year, an institutional source for a colleague of a prosecutor from the former specialized prosecutor’s office, who pushed the role of a flare cart in the dark part of the day. Gold, taken as material evidence on the « eight dwarves ». Pisthal is the cart of gold to load it in the jeep of the criminal organization in question « The Eight Dwarfs » and to disappear.

This was understood by an official institutional source. It was this factual situation that was set out in an indictment of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office. When we used to tell it in the movie of the anti -corruption fund, I am convinced that many people said, « These are nonsense. » I did not believe at some point that this was exactly how it happened. But as a result, it was embedded in an official document of the institutions themselves. That is, this is something we have to take as true. And what is the reaction of this?

Another example is the investigation into the prosecutor General’s actions. From an interview with a special prosecutor in front of « 24 Hours » we learned that Borislav Sarafov was seen by magistrates – not one or two – several times at the Eight Dwarf restaurant.

This contradicts his own publicly represented version of his relationship with Petio Euro – « He went there incidentally, once, an operational combination made in a trap by Ivan Geshev, to be filmed and discredited. »

The special prosecutor practically refutes it for this. This is evidence of connectivity to the criminal network in question. And they say enough that this person cannot occupy a high public office, especially when this contradicts his own public explanations.

And this is not just the Attorney General. We see that the leaders of the most important prosecutorial structures in the country are currently people in the family circle of the « eight dwarves ». We have already realized that

And what is it also done for 4 years? How was this office managed? Where are the cases, what happened in these cases? Charges against three mayors and against one CEO of Bulgartransgaz. But for four years, what happened?

We saw our institutions: because of the degree of infiltration of the bandit organizations in question, nothing was held in them. No process of clearing at the judiciary. We did not see the majority of regular magistrates to ask for an account of what was going on. At the level of political power too:

Our country at the institutional level is blocked. The civil sector is trying to move something, we push something we can, but our capabilities are quite limited. I cannot be angry with the media: in my opinion the topic was raised enough for a fairly long period of time.

But the problem is no longer limited in Bulgaria, the problem is at the level of institutions of the European Union

The key point now is what will the European Union institutions do, the European Prosecutor’s Office? Where was the college of the European Prosecutor’s Office, what did she see from the work of the Bulgarian European prosecutor? Where are EU institutions: Commission, Parliament?

These are questions that you need to find some answer.
