Crete: Explosion and Fire in Elementary School in Ano Hersonissos – Great Damage to the ground floor
Disruption was caused on Monday night 02/6/2025 an explosion heard at the Ano Hersonissos Elementary School shortly after 8:10, according to Cretapost.
Five fire trucks with a total of twelve firefighters immediately attempted immediately, which found that the fire was located in a place where a kitchenette was operating inside the school complex.
The school was closed at the time of the explosion.
So far, the fire has been partial, and it has not been reported what caused the explosion.

Suspension of courses on Tuesday
Following the incident, the headmaster informed parents and teachers with a written message that no lessons would be held on Tuesday, June 3, as the damage will have to be repaired and checking the area for the safety of pupils and staff.
