Crete: Emotion at Manolis Lidakis' funeral – They said goodbye to him with his favorite songs
The last goodbye to Manolis Lydakis was said at noon on Saturday in Heraklion and was melodic.
His family, his fingers, as he used to say, his heartfelt friends, his hundreds of acquaintances, colleagues, associates and co -workers leaned with respect and a flower to tell him the last goodbye. And with tears in his eyes, because his funeral was sudden and premature.
His favorite songs
The funeral service was held at the Holy Metropolitan Church of St. Minas in his hometown, Heraklion, who was supposed to be the place where he left his last breath. Next to him are his favorite brothers, John and Hara, as well as his important associates such as Marios Frangoulis and Lina Nikolakopoulou.

Christos Nikolopoulos sent wreaths, writing « Manolis my friend and brother we will remember you forever », George and Anna Dalara, writing « In our Manolis », Socrates Malamas and many more singers and his admirers.
The most moving moments unfolded outside the Metropolitan Temple of St. Minas where his collaborators played and sang over Manolis Lidakis' coffin two of his favorite songs, « Difficult Weather » and « ASTRA DON'T WALL me ».
In the outdoor sequence, executives, MPs and hundreds of ordinary people who loved Manolis Lidakis' voice and his modest character were attended by the outpost.
Manolis Lidakis would end up in his 65s yesterday and was found dead in his bed last Wednesday in a friendly home in Hersonissos, where he was staying lately to recover from an orthopedic surgery he had undergone.
