Creative courage and ambition for the annual LMA Fashion Show / Day

This year, more than 800 people attended the views, including many people in the public and the design industry, who appreciated the creative courage and ambitions of young designers, as well as the overall stage design and ambitiousness of the show. Fashion lovers who were unable to attend face -to -face views will have the opportunity to experience it while watching a fashion show movie in LAA’s design days. This year’s fashion show film is directed by Ivars Brauer.

This year, Harald Babris, Kate Eisaka, Katrīna Ermanoviča-Hermanovich, Uģis Zauerhagen, Ieva Purviņa, Elza Evelīna Pāvulāne, Enija Pikšen, Sofia Estella Donga, Sofia Estella Donga Annija Pauzere, Elizabete Agate Meisite, Jurģis Emīls Liepiņš, Krišjānis Brasliņš, Kristens Cipst, Lethican Orlova, Pavel Geleznak, Santa Kirmuza Svilāne, Nils Alencevich, Arthur Skurstenis, Paula Vevere, Krišjā Kondrashchuk, Ilze Muciņa.

The fashion show was presented at the end AJ POWER RECYCLING The prize, awarded for the second year, is awarded to the Design Days of the Latvian Academy of Design for the most creative and innovative collection in the context of the sustainability.

This year the prize was received by LAA Bachelor’s Program 4. From the edge of the cloud. Liva’s collection is a personal story about loss of loss and memory. Inspired by childhood memories of grandmothers and graveyard traditions, three sets of costume are designed as an emotional bond between the past and the present. The collection uses slow fashion principles – all fabrics woven and corrugated by hand, following zero waste approach and incorporating all residues in new clothing. It is a quiet fashion with a deep, personal message.

As part of the prize, Liva receives a scholarship that provides an opportunity to attend international fashion, photos and accessories festival Hyères, France in October this year. The festival is an important event for young European fashion professionals, providing the opportunity to get to know international trends and contact the industry.

Visitors had the opportunity to view and buy a fresh book in the fashion show I’m a fashion, In which LAA fashion design students discover themselves not only as designers but also as thinkers and storytellers. Their work calls for questions and rethink our understanding of fashion today.

The contents of the book were created by photographer Reinis Hofmanis, designer Matīss Zvaigzne, fashion designer Indra Miklava, content curators Agnese Narnicka and Pavel Geleznak, as well as editor Baiba Bože. The book will be available for purchase from May 26 pop-up in the shop I’m a fashion, On the 4th floor of Audēju Street. Price – 20 euros.

May 26th to July 30th at the Gallery Center in the Exhibition Room Stories (Audēju Street 16) will open LMA Showroom/pop-up I’m a fashion, where visitors will be able to meet the authors of the collections seen in the fashion show and buy the fashion collections created by students. The project was implemented in cooperation with the association Butterman.

Also from June 6 to 29, LMA building will host a design diploma exhibition at Kalpaka Boulevard 13 I’m in designbut from June 13 to 29 – LMA Diploma Day Exhibitions Am art The program, which will be on view at Kalpaka Boulevard 13 and Kronvalda Boulevard 4, as well as elsewhere in the urban environment.

This year’s fashion show’s creative team was creative director – Agnese Narnicka, producer – Baiba Bože, edition designer – Matīss Zvaigzne, collection photographer – Reinis Hofmanis, photo style author – Assistant professor Indra Miklāva, graphic design – LAA graphic design students.
