CPL challenges the second round of elections

The Association of the Center for Local Policies, together with a group of elite lawyers, announces the initiation of legal procedures for challenging the second round of May 18, 2025. The elections have been marked by serious electoral fraud, documented and reported from multiple sources, and what happened cannot be silenced, the CPL representatives argue.

The document also specifies:

« We refuse to be witnesses to a national farce. We refuse to accept a fraud as a democracy.

We ask all Romanian citizens, from the country and abroad, who have been witnesses or victims of electoral irregularities, to be actively involved. Emergency send any evidence, testimony, registration or relevant document to: [email protected].

Silence is complicity. Don’t let the truth be buried. We are convinced that Romania has been subjected to coordinated actions to divert the democratic process, started from December 2024 – a masked coup, which uses the state tools against their own citizens.

The Center for Local Policies has been present on the street and in the polling stations since November 2024, initially as observers, and now as defenders of the last bastions of democracy. Together with decisive and fearless lawyers, we go before the courts to demonstrate the truth.

« I have been on the barricades since November 2024 – first as observers, then as fighters for all those who were humiliated, for all those who endured the cold of winter asking justice in the street, but they were not heard, » said Radu Ciobotea President CPL.

At the same time, a citizen legislative initiative was triggered for organizing a referendum on the president, officially published in the Official Gazette, who follows his legal steps.

Romania is not for sale. The vote of the Romanians is not a commodity.

If you were stolen, if you were lied to, if you were refused the vote – now is the time to talk.

It’s time to take our country back. Now. Not tomorrow. «
