Count the violation of air traffic controllers serious
The case of the five air traffic controllers that has been terminated is now under investigation by the Transport Agency and is considered very serious.
« It’s been about two weeks since we started to look at this. What turned out suspicions was that it turned out that something was not as it should be. When the matter started to look more and deeper, the scope came to light, » says Kjartan Briem, Managing Director of Isavia Ans, in a conversation with mbl.is.

Isavia has not previously been observed by similar violations. « Not so I know, » says Kjartan, adding that there is no indication that officers or regulators have failed their role.
Review of internal procedures
Following the case, the company has started a review of internal procedures. « We need to work together to strengthen our internal system and processes to prevent this from repeating itself. Although this is a difficult matter and address, we will use it to get better at what we should do. »
The layoffs have affected staffing. « These are five air traffic controllers, so this puts a little heavier burden on those who are currently working. »
Whether the safety of passengers has been jeopardized Kjartan does not want to comment on it. « We have to let the authorities like the Transport Agency evaluate this. »
