Corvin Castle and important cities open their gates

The weekend full of cultural-historical events in Hunedoara County.
Spectacular parades, historical reconstructions, baroque dances, live music, medieval games and thematic guided tours, fairs and museum night. All this creates an interactive program, suitable for all ages, meant to bring back the charm and mystery of the Castle of Huniazilor and the cities of Deva and Orăștie.

The end of these weeks lies under the sign of a culture turn. And there is the real « danger » to discover new interests, which will put us on the list of checkers, this summer, maybe other manifestations of the same kind, other places and museums in the country, practically become historical and museums. Having an absolute plus because whatever you see the white night of the museums becomes a piece of general culture, a pretext of smart conversation, which will say a « conversation », or « party starter », universally valid and usable, both to distinguish you, and to integrate, anywhere in the world.

But let’s see what the organizers do not propose:

Castle Corvin Museum is hosting a double event

A series of special events that will animate the Corvin Castle this week, transforming the symbol of the city into a true cultural epicenter. Under the umbrella of passion for heritage, those who want are invited to participate in various manifestations dedicated to art, history and community.
On Friday and Saturday, May 16-17, from 09:00, in the courtyard of the Museum Castle Corvinilor is held the Castle Fair, an opportunity to meet between historical monuments from all over the country and the general public. Visitors will be able to discover the stories of other castles and fortresses in Romania, presented by interactive stands, brochures, local products and thematic activities.
On Saturday, May 17, starting at 4:00 pm, the researchers from Hunedoara bring to the Castle the Festival of Light, an event full of magic and symbolism, in which the thousands of lit gulguțe will transform the castle yard into a space of reflection, tranquility and community.
In the evening, from 9:00 pm, the local edition of the Night of the Museums, when the gates of the Corvin Castle remain open for visitors until late at night. The access is free, and the atmosphere will be completed by the special lighting of the building, artistic moments and thematic guides. The events of this weekend again emphasize the role of the Corvin Castle as a living space of the Hunedoara culture and promoter of the national heritage. For pictures, memories, for the quality time spent with yourself, with family, children, friends. Are you a parent? Go with the kids. Are you a student? Take your gang. You go alone? Perfect – the atmosphere of the days and the night of museums is also about introspection!

« Return of the Knights » and « Museum Night » in the Fortress of Deva

The Evil and Cultural Center invite for a return in time, between May 17-18, to an event of historical reconstruction: « The return of the knights – medieval activities in the Deva Fortress ».
In the decor of one of the most impressive fortifications in Romania, the Deva Fortress, the vibrant atmosphere of the XIV -XV centuries will be faithfully recreated, giving the public an authentic and fascinating experience.
Thus on Saturday, May 17, from 11:00, the parade of knights, soldiers and ladies will take place, accompanied by horses, will start from Victoriei Square and will cross the Boulevard 1 December 1918, Unirii Square and 1 December 1918; Between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm, in the Deva Fortress, there will be spectacular demonstrations of battle and medieval techniques, presentations of weapons, armor and authentic costumes, delights of medieval gastronomy; 9:00 pm-the evening of story in the light of torches, in a magical atmosphere.
Also on Saturday the Museum of Dacian and Roman Civilization Deva and the Fortress of Deva will organize the « Night of Museums 2025 ». On that day, May 17, access to the two goals will be free between 10:00 – 00:00.
The Deva Museum also proposes to « explore history in the heart of Transylvania! » or/and to participate in: medieval camps, reenactment bands, fighting demonstrations; Guided tours through permanent and temporary exhibitions of the museum; Interactive workshops for children and adults. All in an atmosphere of story in the light of torches in the fortress of Deva.

And on Sunday, May 18, between 11:00 – 16:00, in the Deva Fortress will be reconstructions of medieval battles, music and dances, the legend of the Deva Fortress, theater for the little ones.
Conclusion of the manifestations with the « good gallure of the knights » – a solemn moment that evokes the nobility and courage of those times.
The event from Deva brings together historical reconstruction formations from all over the country: Redivivus Sighetul Marmatiei, Deus Vulta Oradea, Mercenarii de Asserculis Mureș, the guardians of the Fortress of Sucevii, the guardians of the Fortress Neamțu, the Arcașii Fortress Deva, the Lăncierii and the Arcării Ardud, Carpathians.
I think we should reach Deva either to give continuity, legitimacy and energy to do better and more beautiful to all those who, not just the Night of Museums, research, defend, defend and, at the same time, make you acquainted with everything that the local, European and universal heritage have to offer. Our presence is also a gesture of support. Although we can be told to those who work in silence that what they do is matter.

The city of Orăștie opens its gates, or just for a few hours

The representatives of the « Ethnography and Popular Art of Orăștie » Section of the « Dacian and Roman Civilization Museum », in partnership with the City Hall of Orăștie, and the « Nicolaus Olahus » Technological High School announces:
Through the goodwill of the City Hall of the Municipality of Orăștie recently restored Cetate from the locality will open its doors in a guided tourist circuit during the event.
The visit will be accompanied by a group of young people from the « Nicolaus Olahus » High School. The program also includes: an artistic moment followed by the visit of the exhibition « Aspects in the Hunedoara Textile Industry » at the headquarters of the museum.
The most important reason to go to the Museum Night, the 2025 edition, is that we are expected. Many fine people have prepared: museographers, curators, specialists, managers and artists, all, without exception. This year more than ever we are sure they have emotions, that they want to be delighted, maybe a little happier and less easy to deceive. So do not choose your museum, go to all!
Note your date on May 17, over two days! Leave your screen or display and let’s live history, art and live joy. See you at the castle or the fortress, through Hunedoara, Deva or Orăștie.
