Corrupted adolescence and irresponsibility of parents and governments

The case of Loures’s violation – a 16 -year -old who wanted to know his idols, three influencers who frantically posted content on Tiktok and promised money and success – confirms what I have been saying and writing for years about the brutalization of adolescents’ lives in Portugal. Many have already written about what, only the towing this case, is now obvious: the growing dehumanization of relationships between adolescents. I add: and children too.

Many begin to realize now that there is a direct relationship between cases of violence that are multiplying all over the country and unbridled consumption of digital content. The cause-effect relationship is, with this case of Loures, a symptom that we live in a deeply sick society. The Rasi (Annual Internal Security Report) attests to the growth of psychological and physical crimes (attack on emotional and physical health, from the most perfidious forms of bullying to the effective practices of attack on the other’s life) among the young. And add from adulthood. Generation, therefore, that spends thousands of hours in contact with this weapon of massive destruction of thought and sensitivity: the computer, tablet, tiktok, instagram, twitter, profusion of platforms where superficiality, pornography, wrap, evil, lie are the only interest and the only product to consume.

There are very books, studies, statistics that prove to satiety – without the Portuguese government taking concrete measures that prevent the bestialization of children and adolescents – the deadly relationship between this consumption of digital content and a way of existing that, among our adolescents, is an enemy of a healthy life. Parents – so many also brutalized in working relationships by this digital, aspect, colorless, odorless world – have not yet understood that their children are living a true war between life and death.

In schools as in universities, in the labor market as in intimate relationships, it is of life and death that we will have to talk about if we want to understand well the nature of this heinous crime perpetrated by three influencers. Note: Influencers: Those who, living from the ingenuity and even the stupidity of a wide slice of adolescents, are themselves the incarnation of stupidity and goodness, opportunism and laziness. We have to ask: What power is being given to this mass of Ignara, malformed people, whose sole interest is to make money – the so -called influencers? What do you study, what values ​​do you transmit to children and adolescents who follow them? The 16 -year -old girl who wanted to know them – and was violated in the collection of a building and filmed (so that everyone can consume the misfortune of a monstrous sadism !!!) – Is she guilty of being violated? That is to say: Who perpetrated the crime of taking it to a collection (and even if there was consent, I do not believe that such consent provided the violence of such a meeting!) Is it sorry for civil society? Can you be excused by any judge worthy of that name? There is a fundamental data to take into account: Many will have seen the images of the violation – thousands to what it seems – and they will not have denounced this crime. We must also ask ourselves if there is no ideology of death to erode our collective life. And more than all, parents and government – the state that must take care of the common good (the Republic!) – Teachers and other civil society, we have to look at the mirror and say: yes, the culprits of the current alienation and worship of death among teenagers – the guilty we are !!

Adolescence is corrupted by us: parents and rulers, companies and money ideology. The only thing that has truly been given in the gold tray of facilities to those who are between 12 and 22, 25 years old is access to banality, the nefarious life that revolves around the acritic consumerism of all that this demoliberal system (demonic and liberal, you want to say), offers.

When thousands see the images that three teenagers run on social networks and do nothing, then the president of selfies, the digital supporters in schools and universities, should put their hands on the chest and tell if what they defend makes sense. When (as you can see from television programs, what happens in Titok, as you see in WhatsApp groups and other platforms where the human thinks) social networks and violent behaviors determine the pace of school life (and university) in our country, so we have to ask ourselves: What is school today? What’s more, what is the family? What’s more, what is the government for? I remember, regarding the ‘Praxes of Meco’, a morbid and deadly ceremonial for university students who caused death in 2013 to six young people submitted to this usual, which, 12 years ago it was already clear: a country is not made with screens, but with books, with culture, thinking. I hear my students. I will tell you what they tell me about this case and this time: “Education does not exist. Education serves a vampire capitalism »; « How will Celia be? » And this debate has to be done in the country – in schools, families, by the state. Total access to social networks kills. Kills democracy, kills the rest of the human we still have.
