Cormorant chicks on the island. The first such sentence was passed in Poland
It was a crime against nature – this is how investigators and animal defenders commented. Two men-a fisherman and a pond owner, 53 and 54-year-old-in April 2023 they arrived in Łódź nAnd the island on Lake Tonowskie near Żnin, in the province Kujawsko-Pomorskie. It was there that, among the reeds and trees, there was one of the largest breeding colonies of Cormorants in the region.
Investigative accounts show that men had metal pipes with them. They knocked over 100 nests out of the trees. Chicks, eggs, whole breeding constructions fell to the ground. Then it started the worst. The attackers trampled everything that was moving.
