– Cooperation is the key to success in Finnmark
In Northern Norway, we have long since set the engine in gear in the professional-political cooperation. Our model shows that when LO’s union representatives and the Labor Party pull in the same direction, we move mountains. At the same time, we help the workplaces that are created to be safe jobs, and the solutions are stable and targeted.
Bolyst is currently a hot potato. For LO, Bolyst is not a concept or a project, but a condition. Bolyst is what arises when the society we are part of works and people thrive. Basic health services and educational services, leisure activities that engage people and access to jobs throughout the year and housing are keywords in this context.
In Finnmark we work closely and targeted. The youth committee in the region has signed a cooperation agreement with the AUF, and the local LOS have developed clear and elaborate election campaigns. These are not empty words – it’s action.
Because when a process operator from Melkøya or a kindergarten assistant from Sortland stands on the pulpit, they speak not only on their own behalf; They represent thousands of colleagues who know the reality of the body- with high electricity and food prices, heavy rotations and a turmoil for the future.
While many talk about listening to the districts, our union representatives take the microphone themselves. They know what it takes – and they say it out loud. When workers participate in politics, not just the LO – the whole community wins.
We’re up and running. We don’t give up. And we in Finnmark are leading the way.
