Controversial addiction expert Keith Bakker (64) died

The controversial addiction expert Keith Bakker died on Monday at the age of 64. That confirms a well -known Van Bakker to the ANP news agency. He died of heart failure.

Bakker became known as an experience expert in addiction care. He struggled for a long time with an addiction to drugs and started an addiction clinic in Amsterdam and Wassenaar after he had been kicked.

He became known to the general public when he performed as an experience expert in various television programs. He could be seen in From pus to angel,,  » Family Matters and he was regularly a guest at Spraying and swallowing. In 2008, Leon Verdonschot wrote a book about Bakker’s life, Pushing the Limits: the life of Keith Bakker.

Sexual abuse

In 2010, Bakker was discredited after several young women had reported him for sexual abuse. Among them were minor women. Bakker was in 2012 convicted Up to a five -year prison sentence and a ten -year professional ban was imposed.

In 2019 he was once again accused of a sexual offense. In 2012 he was convicted of one imprisonment of 4.5 years For sex with a minor girl. On appeal this became a year and a half in prison. Bakker was released again in 2022.

Earlier this year, Bakker came in the news again because he announced in an online documentary that he wanted to help people with an addiction again.
