A search for a man in the sea at a fishing grounds continues at noon today after it was postponed at the tenth time last night.

Kristján Helgi Þráinsson, assistant police officer in the police department in the capital area, confirms this to mbl.is. The police will first attend a meeting with rescue teams and review the situation.

A search began just before 5 pm yesterday after a report from eyewitnesses was received that a swimmer was in the sea at the fishing grounds in Reykjavik. A considerable number of responders came to the search, but she was unsuccessful.

« We are going to meet here at the police station now, we will meet with Landsbjörg as a result, and will then go in search soon at noon, take advantage of the good weather, » says Kristján Helgi.

Among those who came to the search were police, firefighters, rescue forces, divers from the Special Forces and the Coast Guard helicopter.
