Contemporary chamber music stars / day will shine at the Liepaja Fourth Anniversary Festival

March 21 at 7 pm Concert Hall Amber One of the most sophisticated pearls of the festival – the Chamber Ensemble will be performed in the Chamber Hall of Amber Altera Veritas and a concert of soprano Catherine Paul Felsberg. It will be a musical conversation between the tools and the voice where the contemporary chamber music spectrum will be revealed from the softest nuances to expressive contrasts.

Altera Veritas Established in 1999, and over 20 years, both Latvian and foreign composers have devoted more than 90 compositions to it.

The premiere of a new composition is also expected at the Liepaja Fourth Anniversary International Star Festival concert, and the first meeting with the audience will be experienced by Raivis Misjun White cloud bridgesin which the ensemble will be joined by Catherine Paul Felsberg, one of the brightest new voices in Latvia, which won the Great Music Award in 2023 as the new artist of the year.

“The song series for the soprano and ensemble survives the emotional world of Fritz Beard – his feelings, images of nature and the experiences of the soul. The selected poetry has a magical and deep presence of nature, its importance in human life, and total fusion with it in one. Long and sadness is present, ”says Raivis Misjuns. “Beard poetry has a particularly mythological and philosophical nature, always highlighting and singing the beautiful and nature that is already existing, which the music here also portrays faithfully. The cycle is built as a chamber chamber for a soloist and ensemble leading through different dramatic landscapes, portraying both the composer and the writer's sensitive world. ”

Emotionally saturated performance of Catherine Paul Felsberg will perform at the concert in the Cycle of Arthur Muscat with the poetry of Ojar Vācietis, as well as Henry Poikan a cappella In the composition About the Supreme Object and Aim.

The concert will also feature Kaspars Zemītis, Valdis Zilveris, Mykola Nataleviča and Lauri Joele's instrumental music.

Chamber ensemble Altera Veritas, whose name in Latin means another truth, challenges the perceptions of kokle, accordion and flute, giving them a new, contemporary sound. Its participants are excellent masters of their jobs, whose performance is highly appreciated both in Latvia and internationally.

One of the members of the ensemble, flutist Andis Klucnieks, has just received the highest music award of Latvia – the Great Music Award, proving his important role in the Latvian chamber music world. Arthur Novik, the ensemble's accordionist, was a nominee for the prestigious prize this year.
