Do not underestimate hidden costs!

It is not enough to emphasize the importance of a realistic budget. A bathroom renovation can be up to millions of forints, and it is not uncommon for the total amount to be higher than expected.

– The cost of construction is underestimated by many: beyond the materials, the fee for professionals is also a significant item. Therefore, at least 15-20 percent reserves are available. This is particularly important for old buildings, as the technical conditions behind the walls – aged pipes or electric wires – can have many surprises. If we add 4-5 percent to the planned amount and use the help of an expert designer, we can ensure that the end result will be the one we really want and we will not regret our choice for the next 10-15 years, ”emphasized Gergő Szabó.

Question of a reliable contractor

The cornerstone of the bathroom renovation is to find the right contractor.

– Occasionally, coverers cannot track the development we see in the field of materials. We need a contractor who is experienced, precise, and aware of today’s technical capabilities. The best ones are tabled for months, so the timing is not negligible, the expert advises.

If the mechanical and technical details are ignored, even the most beautiful cover will make sense.

– Waterproofing and power grid are all key. Expecting good ventilation – especially if there is no window – no matter where the sockets are located, the lighting, or where the radiator goes. The renovation also provides an opportunity to modernize the layout, but it also results in a technical conversion: water exits need to be moved, drain or subdivisions for a built shower, added Gergő Szabó.

This year’s trends

A bathroom is really good if you are not only beautiful, but it also serves your daily needs. The 2025 trends are moving in this direction: customers are looking for close nature and modern technological solutions at the same time.
