Consolidation next year will be approaching two billion

BRATISLAVA. The necessary consolidation for next year will be close to the amount of two billion euros.

In the discussion session Saturday dialogues of the stations was announced by the Minister of Finance Ladislav Kamenický of Direction with the fact that the specific number will be announced soon.

It prefers savings on the expenditure side of the budget, but the specific measures will not present until the government coalition agrees.

According to Kamenický, the consolidation package must be increased by hundreds of millions of euros compared to the original prerequisites.

These changes are related, for example, to the revision of the renewal plan, the requirements for increasing teachers' salaries, the risks in health care or the compensation of the high energy prices.

The minister would prefer the next year's addressal energy, but its form must be agreed by the entire coalition.

The space for saving is tapering

« Personally, I will suggest that we consolidate much more on the expense side, that is, on saving, on more efficient spending of money. Taxes can not. But there is some less space for some taxes on which there is a consensus, for example, we are talking about gambling tax, « said Kamenický.

According to him, the municipalities will also be discussed that they do not have additional requirements for the state budget.

The head of the Ministry of Finance does not want to talk more about specific measures at the moment. « Until we have a coalition agreement, I will not speak measures until then. He recalled that the current government has so far followed the way of increasing taxes and levies. He criticized the newly introduced tax on financial transactions, higher value added tax (VAT) or the highest corporate tax on all post -communist countries.

« This is a consolidation that kills the Slovak economy, killing the country. Normally public finances are disintegrating, » Viskupic said.

The Minister is silent about the future

Kamenicky did not say again whether he would apply for the post of governor of the National Bank.

The Minister recalled that although the current governor Petr Kažimír The term of office in June will expire, he will be in office until his successor is elected.

At the same time, Viskupic recalled that, for example, the post of President of Parliament has not been occupied for almost a year.

Need the majority and match

Election of the President National Council could take place next week, admitted Kamenický.

Viskupic confirmed that SaS will not support Richard Raši as President of Parliament. According to him, the entire opposition will not participate in the vote.

Added that they respect the opposition movement's decision in the party Progressive Slovakia (PS) in the topic of the election of the Vice -President of the National Council. Viskupic thinks that two percent are currently a commitment to Slovakia and we do not have the money to spare. According to him, it is essential that all countries of the North Atlantic Alliance comply with this minimum threshold.
