After more than three weeks in the hospital, Pope Francis reacts well to the therapies. A slight improvement in his condition has occurred from the medical bulletin published on Saturday evening. The 88-year-old, who has been located in the Roman University Clinic « Agostino Gemelli » since February 14, is free of fever. The blood values are stable. However, the forecast was still reserved, it said on the part of the doctors.
The Pope prayed on Saturday in the small chapel of the private apartment on the tenth floor of the clinic, in the afternoon he rested and worked, announced from Vatican circles. The 88-year-old continues to be supplied with additional oxygen. This is partly with a breathing mask and partly through cannulas. Overnight, the Pope is mechanically ventilated with a ventilation device in an uninvasive manner. It is the first bulletin to publish the doctors since Thursday.
No breast crises since Monday
On Monday, the 88-year-old suffered two cases of acute respiratory insufficiency caused by considerable accumulation of mucus in the lungs and muscle cramps in the area of the bronchi.
