Completion of Merko’s trials for illegal school principals

The following hearings scheduled for June is expected to finish in the trials against Struga Mayor Ramis Merko for illegally placing principals of several schools in the municipality.

At the request of trial judge Jordan Jovanov, due to the failure to appear in previous hearings, witnesses were brought in the courtroom with police assistance to the illegally appointed school principals in Radolista, Podgorci and Labunista.

– Witnesses are provided with police assistance. Two more witnesses remain in the next hearing and that would be. The defense of the defendants will also be heard at the next June hearings, which always comes to an end. We have already come to that stage of the procedure when we hear the defense – said Judge Jovanov.

Director Exona Jay was also charged with Merko, where Merko, the hearing was postponed due to not appearing by witness Urim Kaba for health reasons, for the illegal director of Merko.

– Here it was said that the witness for health reasons was prevented from reporting to the debate. The court has received confirmation that this is the case, this time it is not about an excuse. Meanwhile, all mechanisms have been provided to ensure his presence at the next debate – said Judge Jovanov.

He pointed out that the list of evidence was exhausted and after the hearing of that witness, the next hearing will be heard and the defendants and the case will be completed.

Defendant’s lawyer Exona Jay, Dimitrija Coboski, pointed out that in order to prosecute someone for forging a document, proceedings against those who falsified it should be initiated.

– It is specific to this case that someone is prosecuting for counterfeiting for the form of a crime use of the counterfeit first, without determining and providing evidence that it is a counterfeit document and without any action against those who falsified it. That is why it is obvious that something is wrong here, and we will prove it during the evidence and hearing of the defendant – said Coboski.

The Struga Basic Court against Mayor Merko is being trial for both the Audi A6 car and for unlawful placement – a memorial to the entrance of the municipal building. He is also on the « black list » of the United States of America (US) for involvement in corruption, and has filed several charges against negligent service.
