Completed deal for Rimi Baltic Sales Salling Group / Day

The Sally Group has entered the entire network of Baltic stores, including the e-commerce platform and a centralized logistics system, which employs more than 11,000 employees. The transaction amount is EUR 1.3 billion.

Rimi’s joining « Salling Group » will provide new development opportunities for a long -term business strategy, says the company.

The company also points out that Rimi has owned the ICA Gruppen since 2007. Salling Group plans to maintain Rimi’s concept and strengthen the market position, while investing in an even better shopping experience.

Anders Hag, CEO of Salling Group, mentions that the company plans to strengthen the company’s market lead in the Baltics while learning from colleagues’ experience, which will also be useful for other Salling Group stores in Denmark, Germany and Poland.

After purchasing Rimi, the total number of stores in Salling Group in Denmark, Germany, Poland and the Baltic States will reach almost 2,100, while the number of employees will exceed 68,000.

The Salling Group owns a low -price supermarket chain Netto, as well as several other store chains, including Føtex and Bilka. « Salling Group » is fully owned by Salling Foundations.

It has already been reported that the European Commission (EC) allowed Salling Group to buy Rimi Baltic from « ICA Gruppen » in early May this year.

Rimi Latvia had a turnover of EUR 1.126 billion last year, which is 4.6% more than a year ago, while the company’s profit increased by 31% to EUR 38.115 million.

Rimi Latvia was registered in January 1992 and its share capital is five million euros, according to information « Firmas.lv ».
