Currently, a 16-year-old boy was to be blackmailed and forced to be silent in fear of the safety of his younger siblings. Earlier, he was regularly ridiculed at school because of acne and wearing glasses. He was excluded from group activities and events by a group of peers, of which three were less than 14 years old. These acts of violence were to lead to an even more serious attack during a trip to Spain – informs the portal mirror.co.uk.
During his stay in Malaga, the references were to attack the boy in the hotel corridor, and then force him to enter the bathroom. There, according to reports, they closed the door, after which part of the group was to rape, and the others – according to the relationship – were to cheer on the attackers. Witnesses of this incident were to shout: « Let him suffer, I want to see how he suffers. »
Blackmail, threats and mental violence after returning
After returning from the trip, the boy was to receive up to 300 phones from one of the group members. He also received threats through social media. According to reports, the victim lived in constant fear, convinced that her younger brother could become the next goal. Over the next two months, the boy was to experience everyday humiliation, until he finally broke down and fell into a catatonic state in his mother’s arms.
The trauma and stress related to these events were so strong that the boy was to lose his memory partly. He lost his memories of the period before and after the assault, which – as specialists explained – could be a symptom of amnesia associated with post -traumatic stress syndrome. Thanks to the help of a psychologist, he slowly began to recover memories.
He was taken to the hospital and stayed there three times for 35 days. He is a psychologist who started therapy with him, as the first to report the matter of the school and the police.
The family is fighting for justice, the school is silent
The boy’s family, who was to become a victim of rape, demands the full explanation of the case and held the responsibility of all people involved in the assault and those who, in their opinion, did not react quickly enough. According to parents, the school for a long time did not inform them about the scale of abuse, and the support from the institution was to be insufficient.
According to reports, the school management did not issue an official statement on the assault, despite the fact that some teachers and parents had to know about violence in class for a long time. Only the psychologist’s intervention meant that the case went to law enforcement agencies.
The proceedings are currently pending against one of the alleged perpetrators. The rest of the participants of the alleged attack remain beyond the reach of the penalty system – mainly due to age or lack of clear evidence. Meanwhile, the victim’s family continues to fight not only for justice, but also for a boy’s mental health, who is still struggling with the consequences of trauma.
Catatonic condition. What is this?
Catatonic condition is a mental disorder in which a person experiences serious motor problems and behavior. It can manifest itself in the form of body stiffness, lack of response to external stimuli, as well as in the form of delayed or excessively intensive movements.
A person in a catatonic state can also show silence, lack of eye contact and not asking questions. This condition often occurs in the context of schizophrenia, but it can also be the result of other mental or physical disorders, such as catatonic depression. Treatment usually requires pharmacological therapy and psychological support.
