CNA’s activity report approved by the Council


The National Audiovisual Council (CNA) granted fines totaling over 2.2 million lei during 2024, the activity report of the institution for last year adopted, on Wednesday, unanimously, by the Council.

According to the document, during the year 2024, the CNA met in 89 public meetings, finding violations of the audiovisual legislation, after which it applied 230 sanctions: 78 fines, in total of 2,212,500 lei, 151 unemployed, a decision on the obligation to broadcast for 10 minutes, only for 10 minutes, sanctioning decision.

Also, the CNA decided to issue 46 decisions to enter legality for non -observance of the conditions for broadcasting advertising.

In 2024, the Council responded to 6,037 petitions, regarding central television and radio stations and audiovisual sites.

During the election campaigns, 204 monitoring reports were drawn up for central stations, respectively 190 for television and 14 for radio. At the same time, the specialized directions (the Monitoring Directorate and the Control Directorate) have verified, processed and centralized the data provided by the central and local televisions and radios, regarding the access of the electoral competitors in the shows dedicated to the election campaigns.

‘The activity report will be transmitted to Parliament until April 15. Then it will be made public, on our site, « said Alexandru Jucan, vice-president of the CNA.
