Contractors preparing for construction on the bus from 25 March to May 21. Traffic will take place in the direction of Vilnius in the direction of Vilnius. Temporary bypasses are scheduled for Jonava Street and Savanorių Avenue.

« During the peak turning from the bus to Alegalio Street, there are heavy congestion. The start of the work will also result in the start of the work on the motorway itself. We take additional security measures to minimize traffic as possible, » says Modestas Petrauskas, Construction Project Manager at Autokausta.

Already next Tuesday, more traffic changes will be greeted by drivers. During the same period, the second lane will be closed in both directions on the section of the viaduct construction site. Contractors will expand the carriageway by directing the traffic by providing temporary labeling – the first and safety strips.

We understand that the work will prevent inconvenience.

The first works at the future viaduct boiled back in 2017-2018. After the formation of a roundabout and a two -way connection of Aleigalio Street with the main road, an additional entrance and exit from the city emerged. The connection to the A1 highway facilitated Kaunas residents' connections with the Kalniečių and Eiguliai neighborhood and provided a new exit in the direction of Vilnius.

The first phase of the project also did more work – formed road embankments and underground communication.

At Ashigalio Street, the construction of a different levels of intersection with deceleration and acceleration stripes begins. The project will make it easier for drivers to reach the elk road quarter, the Eiguliai neighborhood across the Icelandic highway. There will also be a new direction towards the seaside.

Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to get into the Kleboniškis forest quickly and safely, using a brand new pedestrian -driving trail.

The city municipality is carrying out construction work on state land. A little earlier cooperation agreement with the then Lithuanian Road Administration (now VIA Lietuva). Kaunas Council also approved the design and construction of the so -called pole viaduct.
