Climbing accident in the Giant Mountains. The man fell off the rock
The drama took place on May 9. Rescuers of the GOPR Karkonosze Group got a report about an accident during climbing. The man fell off the rocks. From what amount? This is not exactly known. One thing is certain: the action was extremely difficult. There was no path. Only a slope, rocks, bushes and thickets. Rescuers had to break through the area, to reach the victim at all. They fought with obstacles and sometimes.

The photo from the scene of the accident shows the moment when GOPR rescuers and medics leaned over the man. You can see handy stretches, security, harnesses. Someone holds a rescue card in his hand. Another examines the stomach of the victim. Probably suspicion of internal injuries. The man’s left leg was stiffened.
Nine rescuers, including four medical ones, took part in the action. Three off -road vehicles were also ordered to help. A LPR helicopter was called in.
– The injured was handed over to the cre a helicopter crew with numerous injuries – the GOPR Karkonosze Group said on his social profile.
Unknown, but a serious situation
For now, it is not known in what condition he is wounded. His identity or the details of the event were not given. GOPR only confirmed that the accident occurred during climbing.
Kowalowe Skały is a fragment of the Karkonosze – the highest band of the Sudetes, stretching on a length of about 40 km. Place popular among climbers. But also treacherous.
