Pieter S. has been behind bars since that dramatic morning. And it can stay that way if it depends on the Public Prosecution Service. For the unintentional killing in drunken state at an inappropriate speed, the attorney progressed five years in prison. For the flight crime – « the second bad decision he makes » – a year in prison and for ignoring the alcohol lock for another two years. Or a total of eight years in prison and 24,000 euros of fine plus a lifelong driving ban.
