Cleaning in Pentagon. High officials have been fired because they suspected data leakage

Dan Caldwell, once one of the highest advisers of US Minister of Defense Pete Hegsetha, expressed on Sunday, along with two other Pentagon officials. Doubt of leaking information in the investigation that led to their shift this week.

« We are incredibly disappointed with the way our service ended at the Ministry of Defense. Unnamed Pentagon officials slandered us after our shift, » Caldwell announced on X.

Caldwell and the others added that they still do not understand why they are under investigation, whether she is always an active investigation and whether there was an investigation into the information leak at all.

Caldwell’s first comment since Reuters first revealed that it was accompanied by Pentagon building on Tuesday after being identified within Pentagon’s Information Information for « Unauthorized Revelation, » an American official told Reuters.

After Caldwell, the Pentagon also dismissed less high -ranking officials by Darin Selnick, who recently became Hegseth’s deputy head of the headquarters, like Colin Carroll, who was the head of the Deputy Minister of Defense Steve Feinberg.

Caldwell’s statement, Selnicka and Carroll suggests that they did not pay sensitive or confidential information since they stated that they understood the importance of information security.

Pentagon did not immediately respond to the comment request.

Although Caldwell is not as famous as other senior Pentagon officials, he played a key role as Hegseth’s advisor. Its importance was emphasized in the leaked chain of texts on the signal published last month by The Atlantic.

In it, Hegsetth appointed Caldwell as the best contact point for the staff of the National Security Council while preparing to launch an attack on Hutia in Yemen.

Caldwell turned his attention to Washington with his earlier stops called the critics of the isolationist, but of which advocates say they sought to determine the right size of American defense priorities.

Caldwell, a marine veteran who was deployed in Iraq, said before going to the Pentagon for the US it would be better for US troops to stay home. He was also a skeptic toward US military assistance to Ukraine and advocated the withdrawal of the US from Europe.

Caldwell’s overthrow has been separated from the dismissal wave since Hegsetth, former Fox News manager and war veteran, took over the Pentagon in January. These release of the highest leaders included the Chief of the Associated Headquarters and numerous other high -ranking officers.
