City of Augsburg announces architects for the second time without notice

It is the second separation within eight months: The city of Augsburg has now terminated the cooperation for the entire theater construction site to the Munich architecture firm Walter Achatz. According to our editors, the planner received a termination without notice for the listed large house on Friday, After being removed from the race for the new building behind the theater in August last year. The city of Augsburg justified this step on Friday in a press release with the wish that the construction site was to be completely reorganized. The urban project group is also affected by this restructuring.

Theater renovation Augsburg: A new planner should be found by summer

According to Kercher, the tender for the object planning of the large house has already started, and a new planner is also to be found for this part of the 417 million project until the summer vacation. In order to be able to continue with the work by then, the city has temporarily commissioned an office to continue the architecture and planning work in the so-called component I. This step had already been taken for the new building in summer. A new architect has now been found here with the Munich architecture firm Hennhe works with the Augsburg company Leitwerk.

According to the Baucherent Kercher, there are also changes for the urban project group under the direction of Norbert Reinfuss, which the theater construction site supervises from the building owner: The overall project management is reinforced by an external office for project control, according to our newspaper, the tender should go online on Friday on the relevant tender platforms. As reported, there have always been delays and reducing at the theater construction site in recent years. In the meantime, the city assumes that the project will not be completed until 2030.
