Christophe Lambrecht gets a bench in Herentals Stadspark: « He was a quiet force with a great sense of justice » (Herentals)
Radio presenter Christophe Lambrecht, died six years ago, gets a bench named after him in the city park of Herentals, as a tribute. That was announced on Monday on ‘Radio 2’ and ‘Studio Brussels’.
In Herentals, the place where Christophe spent his youth, a bench in the Stadspark will soon be named after him. Mayor Jan Bertels discussed a call by Peter van de Veire. « Radio is a friend, » says Peter. « And Christophe Lambrecht was radio. He was the friend of all listeners and we should never forget that so I am very happy that the place where he grew up provides a place that radiates warmth and ensures that people find and connect each other. »

That this tribute is coming was announced during a joint radio moment. Peter Van de Veire was just at the same time Radio 2 and Studio Brussels to hear. Fien Germijns took care of the live report from Herentals.
During this moment it was looked back at the death of Christophe Lambrechts, an event that deeply touched many people and listeners. « Even six years later I still feel Christophe hanging in all the corners and sides of the Brussels editors studio, » says Fien. « It is only possible that this is also the case in Herentals. The more tangible we can make the memory of that fantastic warm sweet friend, the better. »

Fien Germijns spoke with Mayor Jan Bertels about the initiative. Although Christophe originally came from Grobbendonk, he spent his childhood in Herentals. « Many in Herentals knew Christophe as a warm, with-people-began man, » says Bertels. « We knew him from our childhood like DJ in café De Max and later as RadioStem in Music@Work on Studio Brussels – his calm, warm voice made radio to a friend. Christophe was a silent power with a great sense of justice that let us enjoy the little happiness. He remains a heart -warming memory that we continue to bothered in Herentals. »

Lambrecht died of heart failure at the age of 48. At the end of his life on weekdays he presented the Music@Work program in the morning. “ »Hallelujah and praise the lordbecause I finished with Rammstein and « Deutschland. » A few days earlier, he left a girlfriend and three children: Helena, Bruna and Maurice, at the time, the shock for the unexpected death of Christophe was so great that there was only non-stop music for a while.
