Ukraine has intelligence information that shows that China supplies artillery and gunpowder to Russia, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said on Thursday.
« We believe that Chinese representatives are involved in the production of some weapons in Russia, » he said at a press conference in Kiev. Zelenski did not specify whether he was referring to artillery systems or shells.
The statement is likely to make relations between Kiev and Beijing, which are already strained by Ukraine’s disclosure to capture Chinese citizens fighting for Russia. So far, China has been trying to maintain an outward sense of neutrality in the three -year war caused by Russia’s full -scale invasion of Ukraine.
« We already have facts about this work of China and Russia to strengthen their defense capabilities, » Zelenski said, expressing his anxiety as he said Chinese President Zinpin has promised him that Beijing will not sell or supply weapons to Moscow.
