China has imposed visa limitations on Americans on Tibet
China has announced visa restrictions on US officials who have « behaved badly » on Tibet issues, the country’s foreign ministry said.
The announcement was made after Washington imposed additional visa restrictions two weeks ago by Chinese officials involved in policies restricting foreigners’ access to Tibetan regions.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Tzian said that Tibet issues are « Internal Work of China » and that « US abuse with visa restrictions on Chinese employees » on Tibet « seriously violate international law and basic norms regulating international relations. »
- Foreign tourists have the right to visit the Western Tibet region as long as they travel in organized groups and obtain prior permission. Diplomats and foreign journalists should be approved by local Tibet authorities for travel.
« Tibet is open. China welcomes friendly people from other countries to visit, travel and do business in Tibet, » Lynn told reporters.
China opposes the intervention of any country or employee of Tibetan issues under the pretext of human rights, religion or culture.

China established control of Tibet in 1950, which defined as « peaceful liberation » from feudal serfdom.
International human rights organizations and Tibetan opposition, exile, are constantly talking about China’s oppressive government in Tibetan regions.
