Children between the ages of 7 and 12 are expected, during July, to spend an active, fun and full of discovery summer, at a new edition of the educational program « Holiday at the Museum », an event organized by the County Museum of History and Art Zalău.

According to a press release of the organizers, for five weeks, between June 30 and August 1, during weekly themed series, children will learn, explore nature, model clay, take steps through history and create with their own hands objects inspired by the heritage of the museum or from the world.

The first series of the program will take place between June 30 and July 4, under the generic « Urban Zumzet », for children between 7 and 12 years old. Through games and practical activities carried out both in the museum and in the park, children will discover the fascinating world of insects living in the urban environment.

The second series, « summer on the street », will be July 7 to 11, for children between 7 and 12 years old. Using colored yarn and beads, children will give life to inspired creations from the world of the village, rediscovering crafts, stories and traditions in a colorful workshop.

The third series, the « artifact and its story … the first craftsmen », is scheduled between July 14 and 18, for children between 7 and 12 years old. Participants will explore the museum’s collections and learn how the ceramic vessels were once realized. With the help of clay, they will create their own objects and learn ancient modeling and decoration techniques.

The fourth series, « on the axis of the time », will take place between July 21 and 25, for children between 9 and 12 years old. It will provide an captivating adventure through paleolithic, Neolithic, Dacian and Roman era. Children will become craftsmen, warriors or archaeologists and will learn about the past through role -playing games, creative workshops and stories.

The last series, « Explorers in the Laboratory of the Past », will be organized between July 28 and August, for children between 9 and 12 years old. This will be an incursion into the world of science applied in archeology. The small explorers will experience, learn through play and become detectives of the past in interactivity workshops.
