Chemistry explosion at Seville: 77,000 people affected
In response to the fire in a warehouse with chemicals in the city of Alcalá de Guadaíra in Andalusia, the approximately 77,000 inhabitants were called not to stay outdoors if possible. People should keep doors and windows closed, the city administration wrote on X. The city is around 16 kilometers southeast of the Sevilla tourist metropolis of Sevilla. However, the wind -blowing wind is likely to carry the cloud of smoke away from the city.

According to the information, the fire in the warehouse in an industrial area triggered several explosions. A huge black cloud of smoke stood above the hall, as could be seen on TV pictures. Nothing became known about injuries by the fire and explosions and possibly poisonous vapors.
The city administration called for the evacuation of the industrial area. It was initially unknown whether there was actually a risk of poisoning. The administration emphasized that the call to stay at home was as a precaution. What triggered the fire was unknown for the time being.
No departure from this terminal
