Chemezov about captured in his technique: « There is nothing to take »

The head of the Rostec State Corporation Sergey Chemezov, in an interview with the magazine « Intelligence » spoke about the quality of the Western armored vehicles used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the zone of special military operation (SV). His assessments and comments as a whole turned out to be quite critical, despite the recognition of a number of advantages of some foreign samples.

An interview with Sergey Chemezov magazine « Scout (published by the Foreign Intelligence Service) is generally devoted to the history and specifics of the state corporation in the conditions of sanctions, as well as accumulated in the course of his experience. At the same time, the general director of Rostec shared the first systematized results of the study of Western armored vehicles, captured by the Russian military in the special operation zone.

So, speaking of a German tank Leopard 2 (According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, one Leopard 2A4 and Leopard 2A6 tank was captured, Sergey Chemezov drew attention to a high level of its performance – modern components, a fire control system and a powerful engine. However, our experts could not find breakthrough design solutions in it, which “could apply at home,” said Mr. Chemezov. American tank M1a1 Abrams He described as a “generally interesting car”, but again emphasized that the Russians “have nothing to take” due to the complexity of the design and labor-intensive service.

British tank Challenger 2 He was awarded an even more sharp assessment from the head of Rostec: he called him “a pot of pot, not very suitable for real battles,” and expressed a desire to look at him “rather out of curiosity”. It should be noted that representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation did not previously report the seizure of this type of equipment, with the exception of the armored repair and evacuation machine based on Challenger 2.

Sergey Chemezov paid special attention to the American infantry fighting vehicle (BMP) M2 BRADLYY. He recognized its main advantages-the security and convenience of the landing department, but at the same time criticized foreign and domestic military experts who declared the superiority of this machine over the Russian BMP-3. According to the general director of Rostec, “our means of defeat destroy the American BMP along with the crew and landing”, and this machine itself has a number of problems due to poor patency in the chernozem, the inability to swim and large dimensions that turn it into a slight target-in contrast to the BMP-3, in which all these tasks are solved.

According to the Russian OSINT resource Lost Armor, which leads the statistics of technology captured at the enemy, based on confirming photo and video materials available, at the moment, an impressive fleet of Western combat vehicles has been assembled in the Russian trophy “piggy bank”. The most massively represented by American equipment: M113 armored personnel carriers (46 units), M2A2 BRADLYA BMP (20), armored personnel carriers M1126 Stryker (8), main combat tank M1A1SA Abrams (5), armored repair and evacuation vehicle M88A1 (1) and even a tank bridge-layman and even a tank bridge M60 AVLB (2 units). This list also includes 12 Dutch armored personnel carriers (BTR) YPR-765A1 and 9 German BMP MARDER 1A3. In addition, there are relatively rare samples among the trophies: the British BTR FV103 Spartan (3) and the AT-105 Saxon (5), the French armored vehicle VAB (4) and the wheel tank AMX-10RC (1), the Swedish BMP PBV 302 (3) and BMP CV9040c, Canadian BTR LAV ACSV Super Bison (2).
