Check Iranian experts: negligence or sabotage?

It should have been a coincidence that the huge explosion in the Iranian container port Shahid Rajaee with the last round of negotiations between Iranian and American diplomats in Oman. The discussions allegedly « very seriously and professionally » conducted will continue next weekend.

At least 25 people died in the accident described by eyewitnesses as an « apocalypse » on Saturday morning. Over 500 were seriously injured. Seven people are still missing.

The Iranian government ordered a « complete investigation of the causes » and warned local and international media of hastily speculation. So far, there is no evidence of an act of sabotage – which was immediately speculated about which on social media in Iran and the nearby United Arab Emirates.

There, a spokesman for the private British security company Ambrey surveyed by the British BBC only a few hours after the explosion had declared that the explosion affected containers would contain solid fuel for ballistic Iranian rockets.

The slightly soluble sodium perchlorate was part of a large delivery from China, the Financial Times had already reported in January of this year. According to experts who wanted to remain unnamed, the components should be used to increase the Iranian rocket stocks used by attacks on Israel in October last year.

Israeli opposites had then directed Iranian rocket production. In this way, plants for the production of rocket fuel were met, which were also imported by China.

Israel insists on disassembly of the nuclear program

One year was mentioned as a time frame for the repair of the systems in western intelligence circles. In order to continue to be able to produce rockets, Iran was and is therefore dependent on the delivery of that sodium perchlorate rocket fuel, which exploded on Saturday morning in the Shahid Rajaee container port.

Whether sabotage or negligence was the cause of this will probably not be determined so soon. However, it is considered certain that in Israel you should not be unhappy about the explosion of festival fuel for ballistic Iranian rockets. Finally, the already battered Iranian arch enemy was further weakened by the catastrophe.

Israel has been on the complete disassembly of the Iranian nuclear program for more than ten years, which also includes the ballistic rocket arsenal. The Iranian-American nuclear discussions, on the other hand, are about a verification based on verification, which is intended to severely limit the Iran nuclear program instead of eliminating it.
