Charleroi company debuts with spectacle ‘Fantasmagoria’ at Lichtfestival of Sydney

After passages in Los Angeles, Dubai, New Delhi and Osaka, the Belgian company Dirty Monitor debuts with the spectacle ‘Fantasmagoria’ on Vivid, the light festival of Sydney.

Dirty Monitor from Charleroi is known for Videomapping or projecting video animation on buildings and was invited to show his work on Vivid, which takes place until mid -June in the largest city in Australia.

Spectators are treated to ‘Fantasmagoria’, a video story projected on the Bond building in the port of Sydney. The spectacle is about dreams, the rapture of reading and the art of storytelling.

Up to three million visitors a year

Antoine Menalda, who led the project, is delighted that Belgian talent is also invited to Sydney. With two to three million visitors a year, Vivid is « an important opportunity to show our work to the general public, » says Menaldo. At the same time, the company can also try to appeal to other professionals from the sector, it sounds.

The reactions are « extremely positive », it sounds. The organization of Vivid is also enthusiastic. Dirty Monitor is therefore planning to submit new proposals for upcoming editions. « We would like to work in an iconic place in the city, such as the Museum of contemporary art, the customs house or even the opera house, » Menalda dreams.

Dirty Monitor also looks at other Australian cities, such as Adelaide and Melbourne, to exhibit his art.
