Change in the local council: Claudie Reyland announces withdrawal

There are changes in the municipal council of Luxembourg city: from September Claudie Reyland from the Déi-Gréng faction will leave her post. This is announced by the mainbal party section in a letter on Saturday. « After 15 years of active engagement among the Greens of the capital and eight years in the local council, Claudie wants to withdraw something politically in the future, » it says.

The veterinarian competed for the first time in the local elections in Luxembourg city in 2011 and moved to the local council in 2017. In the past local elections, she was a co-top candidate of Déi Gréng and was involved in the city for many years as the co-president of the Greens, as well as at the national level on the party council and the party’s gender council.

As President of the equality commission, she campaigned in particular for gender justice and a LGBTIQ+-friendly city. As a green spokeswoman for culture and sport, the social aspect was particularly important to her. The bridge project with an elevator between Cents, Neudorf and Kirchberg as well as an improved design of the Avenue Pasteur were also their important concerns. In autumn, Liudmila Vanira Branca will move into the local council.
