Cerrary your teeth …

In Europe the feeling of insecurity and fear begins to spread themselves aggressively among the working classes with less social protection, with less rights at work. This malaise is aggravated by the young layers with academic formation, in the atomized neighborhoods of peripheral cities that do not find answers to a dignified and fair life. This social and psychological phenomenon has its origins in neoliberal policies that were applied in Europe and the West by democratic and republican social parties. As we can see in these last decades of social deregulation of labor and economic globalization avenged belief in a god regulatory market and instrument for all maleites in the world.

The last three decades have been loaded with irony and contradiction, while experts defended a global world without economic borders, without protection, without rigid and righteous labor rights the political world became a true reality showwhere they dominate political characters promoted by the media and the great globalized capitals, without great humanist and social political culture. The triumph of a democracy with market values, led by the neoliberalism he had in Margaret Thatcher and Donald Reagan their main promoters, with the later adherence of European socialist and social parties, highlighting Tony Blair in England and Bill Clintoon in the US.

Neoliberalism according to Wendy Brown (2016) attacks the principles, practices, subjects and institutions of democracy understood as the government of the people and, at the same time, that despises the sacred values of Western democracy such as freedom, equality and social justice. Neoliberalism is deeply destroying the character and future of democracies. It is within this reconfiguration that the relationship between the state and the economy change deeply, calling into question the policies of redistribution, equality and social mobility.

The working classes are confronted with the deregulation of work, the promotion of labor precariousness and the social closure that leads them to a situation of despair and social alarm. Students are placed in the face of the situation of a commodity formation, a school according to the market, without social support that allow young people to continue their formation to the university. The right to work, health and education retreat for the benefit of the private school, elite and allied of neoliberal policies. The working classes, the children of the working class are prevented from entering public universities where averages reach maximum values, oblige students to resort to explanators and preparation rooms for access to access to public universities. The poor are decened in public schools where violence, poverty, discouragement and social frustration reigns.

In the governments of our republic reigns the Homo oeconomicuswhich from the top of its altar, governs and defines programs and policies to the service of large globalized financial corporations. Governance aligned by the principles of the sacred market, on the influence of large offices and corporations, of elites and globalized oligarchies. Popular and participatory democracy is devalued and considered anacronistic thing, it is necessary to trust the power of the market and the great loan sharks of the world. National life is defined by the spheres of globalization without taking into account the public goods and social rights of citizens, as well as refuse popular sovereignty and the destruction of borders.

It is in this context of political and social fragility that parties such as “arrives” emerge and consolidate themselves as an alternative to power. These parties take advantage of the working classes, which are in an advanced state of great social, economic and emotional fragility. At the same time, corruption, clientelism, the closure of parties around elites, lineages and party carreirism favor their demagogic and populist rhetoric, which falls like a glove in a society sacrificed with taxes, poverty, precariousness, health and more difficult to access and very expensive.

Dismissal, frustration and anger take over the working classes that in their chronic state of crisis, seek a scapegoat, a close cause that justifies your life, your work and your shit salary.

The electoral results of this fateful day May 18 are the face of poverty and frustration, the loss of hope and the future of thousands of men and women who once believed that this country was possible. The parties of the Arch of Governance for decades have ruled for the economy, but forgot the people. An economic policy without people translates into an unfair, selfish and inhuman policy. An economic policy concerned solely with markets, business is a source of great popular dissatisfaction. A policy that conceives citizens solely and exclusively as consumers, without rights and without human dignity translates into a source of protest. The Portuguese are very angry with the representatives of this political system. They are tired of paying tolls, beggars, penalty fines that have seen millions in favor of large financial corporations. The state has become Robin Hood of the great global financial empires.

A reflection on the role of parties in the defense and deepening of social democracy in Europe and Portugal, in order to identify the causes of this regime crisis is urgent. As popular wisdom says it is necessary teeth Not to endure the pain of the moment, but to find the utopia and the dream in the construction of a free, fair and worthy society.
